Congrats to Mr. Hardy and Melodic Fusion for putting on the Fusion Fest Competition this past Saturday.  20 schools participated from OH, PA, VA and WV, making it one of the largest competitions in the state!

     Our students help to serve the community this past weekend through the Food Pantry!  We will now restock for the February distribution day! 

Congrats to the JROTC drill team for being 2nd in the State!

Also congratulations to the wrestling team for their 5th place team finish (out of 29 teams) at the Fairmont Winners Choice Competition!  Melodic Fusion received 3rd place in their division at the competition in Beaver Creek & Tyrek Saunders was named best performer!!!

Announcements: January 10, 2016

Great first week of the 2nd Semester!  Remember: It is easier to keep up than to catch up!

Attendance is key!  Although some absences are unavoidable, being in class should be a priority for students to succeed.  AIS and Freshman Focus are back during Warrior Time Tuesday-Friday.  Students are to go to a session to receive extra help or make up assignments.

WVSSAC Championship Program Cover Design Contest

WVSSAC Championship Program Cover Design Contest

During the 2015-16 school year, the WVSSAC office will print fourteen programs for our championship events.  More and more schools are getting involved with this project.  It goes without saying the cover must catch the eye immediately of those fans attending championship events. All fourteen programs featured cover designs submitted by students of member schools.

If a student’s design is selected he/she, in addition to their name being printed on the cover of the program, will receive a $200.00 scholarship to further their education upon graduation from high school.   Upon graduation and enrollment in post-secondary education, the student receives the scholarship.

Students are encouraged to submit designs for specific sports programs.  The cover design may be either hand drawn or by computer graphics and include up to four colors.  Programs in all championship events from golf to baseball will be published.

Consideration should be given to gender in the design.  For example, if a student uses a boy on the cover of the Cross Country you have omitted the girl in the event.  Girls Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball are the only all-female sports while Boys Basketball and Baseball are the only all-male sports.

Deadlines for submitting to the WVSSAC office are as follows:

       Swimming, Wrestling, Girls Basketball, – February 1, 2016
       Tennis, Softball, Track, Baseball – April 1, 2016

Underclassmen: Remember your goals. What do you want to be when you "grow up"? All goals start with your high school graduation!  Work each day to get there.

Congratulations to the Wrestling Team for their accomplishments finishing at the Pat Vance Invitational this past weekend!  The team received the Team Sportsmanship Award, along with many individual awards! Brice Pomery earned Outstanding Wrester Award!!

1st place in their weight class: Nick Steirwalt, Darrell Ray Holstion, Brice Pomery 

Top 4 finishes: Raequan McCray, Steven Slack, Oliver Lopez, Nathaniel Armes

The boys basketball team competed at the WVU Tech Shootout Dec 29, 30 WINNING the tournament.  Congrats to Zac Warden for getting MVP of the tourney and Henry Barron-Houchins, Josh Carpenter & Hayden Burke for being on the all-tournament team!  5-0 for the season!
