First Day of School!!!

Welcome Back WARRIOR NATION!

We are excited to see everyone!!!

  • Breakfast will be served from 6:45 to 7:05.  
  • Check in the commons for your homeroom class.  They will be separated by class and alphabetical.  
  • Homeroom will start at 7:15.  You will get your updated schedule.  
  • After about 5 minutes you will go to your first period class.  You will receive all of your handouts. 
  • Class meetings will happen throughout the day!

Bring on the 2015-2016 school year!

August 5: Teachers return!!!

August 6: Freshman Orientation 6pm in the auditorium.  Excited to see the Class of 2019 again!!!

Warrior Summer

We hope that you are having a great summer!!!



  • One week of sports practices is in the books.  Two weeks to go.  Contact your coach if you need more information.  
  • JROTC had a great week at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, WV.  The week was full of water survival training, land navigation training, rock wall rappelling and a leadership challenge course.  Top shooters of the camp... Great job!

The Riverside HSTA club presented their symposium projects at Woodrow Wilson this past Saturday. Each group is judged then they average out the scores for each school in the region. Riverside is the Kanawha regional winner this year.  Congrats to all of the HSTA students, Mrs. Veazey and Mrs. Mullins!  Not all students are pictured.  

Seniors: 
  • What a great day this past Wednesday was during Awards Assembly!  Class of 2015 is made up of talented and intelligent young people!  
  • Senior trip is Monday!
  • Wednesday, May 20th.  
    • Graduation Practice at the Civic Center. This is MANDATORY!!  You MUST report to the Charleston Civic Center at 12:00. You will enter to the main floor to your right as you enter the Civic Center.  Visitors/guests will not be able to enter onto the floor.  You will be given your seat assignment at this time.
    • GRADUATION DAY!!!! Charleston Civic Center at 7:00pm,  You MUST be at the Civic Center and be in your seat no later than  6:00pm
    • Project Graduation!

Happy May!!! Lots of things happening!  

Congratulations to Amber Ferrell for being a Kanawha County Secondary Principals Teacher of the Year Finalist!  Well deserved Miss Ferrell!!!

  • Graduation is just around the corner!!! Make sure you have all of your credits! Check with your counselor!  Check with your teachers.... Get the work done!!!!
  • There will be a class meeting Monday morning (1st period).  Be at school ON TIME!!!


The track teams are still in action today at the Gazette/Friends of Coal Relays at Laidley Field.  Congrats to Maleah Penn for finishing 4th in the High Jump!

Congrats to the baseball team for their win over South Charleston Friday 11-6.

April 17- Announcements


Baseball game tonight @ 6!  Be there!

Saturday: 
  • Food Pantry is open from 9:00-10:30!  #WarriorsHelpingWarriors!!
  • Project Graduation will be hosting a huge event to raise money for our graduating seniors to have a safe night to celebrate their graduations!!! Beginning at 9 am there will be a yard sale, car wash, Drive-A-Ford campaign and food items to purchase!  Come out and support this great cause!!!
  • Softball games will be played tomorrow 2, 4 & 6.... Come support Strike Out Breast Cancer
  • Baseball games will be at 3 & 6.   
Seniors:
  • Scholarships
    • East Bank Alumni Scholarship will also award students that are going to an accredited trade or vocational school such as Carver or Ben Franklin Career & Technical Schools for any of their programs.
    • FCA has a $500 1 year scholarship-to be paid directly to college or trade school on enrollment.  Requirements: FCA membership, senior attending college or trade school next year, compose a 500 word typed, formal essay on discussing how your personal faith will guide your future.  
  • Senior trip will be Monday, May 18 to Cedar Point.  Price will range from $100-130.  Payments may begin now, due by April 24th.  See Amanda Merrill for more details.  
  • Project graduation forms and contracts are in the front office.  Fill them out and return as soon as possible!  Return to Kasidi Legg or the front office!  


  • Prom tickets are on sale at the store during Warrior Time.  $80
  • The annual athletic banquet will be May 3 at 3pm
  • Riverside Music Department presents Hairspray!  Friday, April 24th, 9:30.  Tickets are $5.00 in advance, $6.00 the day of the show.  Tickets are being sold in the Commons during Warrior Time.
